How to register an SMS Sender ID in the Philippines

A Sender ID is the name or number that appears as the originator of an SMS message on the recipient's phone. It identifies who sent the message.

Why get a Sender ID?

Sender ID is required in order to send SMS in the Philippines. It provides multiple benefits:

  • All network delivery
  • Brand recognition
  • Allow links in SMS
  • Priority routing
  • Less content filtering

Who can apply for Sender ID?

All local businesses can apply for Sender ID.

Who cannot apply for Sender ID?

Capstone projects, students, and businesses without business documents are NOT allowed to register a Sender ID.

For Students

If you wish to use UniSMS for your school projects, you have 2 options:

  • 1. Ask a business to use your app, then that business can apply for a Sender ID.
  • 2. You use our restricted Sender ID. A restricted sender ID can send to all networks except Smart, TNT and Sun.

Can I have multiple sender IDs?

Yes, you can have multiple sender IDs at no additional cost.

What is the difference between the default Sender ID and my own?

New accounts get a default Sender ID so you can integrate and test while your own application is processed. It uses your SMS credits like any other Sender ID, reaches Globe and DITO, can't send to Smart, TNT or Sun numbers (they're refused before any credit is used), and can't send links. Your own Sender ID shows your brand name, reaches every network, and can be allowed to send links.

Why is my sender ID showing as inactive?

An inactive Sender ID can't send messages. This can happen when a Sender ID is suspended, or on older accounts whose default Sender ID was switched off. Apply for your own Sender ID, or contact us if you think it was switched off by mistake.

You must have at least 1 SID token to open up the LOA form found here.
